We leave this Friday for the Fall Retreat, please be at the building between 4-4:30 p.m. We will provide a meal and load up the trailer. Presently, we have 35 students, 6 counselors and 5 adults going from UCC. We should have about 70 people all together counting the other groups that will be joining us. I am excited about the theme “Half-Hearted” we will be focusing on loving the Lord your God will ALL of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. We will be worshiping Sunday morning with the Gateway Church, and our very own Nate will be leading worship. We should return home by 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, September 21. Here is what you will need to bring: Bible, pen/pencil, notepad, warm clothes or Jacket, sleeping bag or bed roll, Towel, Shampoo, Deodorant, Pillow, Clothes for 2 nights, Flashlight, Soap, Toothpaste and toothbrush, comb/brush. Please do not bring the following: Radios, water guns, tobacco/vapes, Knives (including pocketknives) alcohol, speakers of any kind, shaving cream, or weapons of any kind. Cell phones will be collected due to insurance requirements. Please do not bring them, if you need to take pictures or need an alarm, buy something else. There are three rooms for both the girls’ and boys’ cabins. You can stay with your friends, but we are dividing up the cabins usually by age. 6-8th grade, 9th – 10th and 11th – 12th. There can be some overlap, but we do want to keep the cabins even. Once we arrive at Mountain View Christian Camp, we will unload the trailers and take your luggage to your cabins there will be signs on the doors and set up. Please, so not bring anything of value, especially cash or expensive jewelry. You will not have to buy anything on the trip unless you just want a snack from the gas station. You are responsible for your stuff and keeping it in a secure or safe place. Sticking things in your shoe does not count. We do expect you to treat others with respect and dignity. No, fighting or arguing, or talking down other people. There are various games, such as basketball, volleyball, and gaga ball. You are welcome to bring a frisbee or other equipment just incase they are missing anything. The internet will be shut down at night, this is not a slumber party or an opportunity to stay up late, we want everyone awake for Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon classes. It should be a great weekend; it is still not too late to register!
Puppets
We have 15 shows on September 26-27 at the Southern New Mexico State Fair. Our first show will be Friday at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 9:30 p.m. Then on Saturday, we will stat and 10:30 a.m. and finish at 8:30 p.m. If you are at the Fair, please stop by and watch the show. We are just north of the petting zoo on the east walkway of the main street. If you are a puppeteer, please be at the building on Friday, at 4:15 p.m. We will leave by 4:30 p.m. if you are late you will have to have your parents drive you to the Fair. We will return each evening by 10:15 p.m. You will need to buy one meal on Friday and one meal on Saturday. You can bring snacks, and we will have bottled water all day. It is exhausting but a lot of fun hanging out at the fair. You might bring a game or something to do in between the shows.
Youth 4 the city
We are meeting on Wednesday nights for Bible study. Dom and Kaydin are teaching the middle school class (looking like Jesus), and I am teaching the high school “Revelation.” I am trying to make the classes interesting and engaging and hopefully everyone will leave encouraged, I would like to thank those that have been coming and the parents that have volunteered to bring food each week. We have really been blessed with everyone pitching in to help this year!

Parents Page
We are taking 46 people total to the fall retreat, so we will be needing some of the parents going to take their own vehicle. I will also be asking some of the counselors to provide transportation. We have 2 vans, but they will only hold 30 people. This is a good problem to the 5 adults going from here, include: myself, Bryan Wetzel, Jon Denney, Beth Denney, and Michele Johnson. If there are other adults wanting to come and help, please let me know. It does cost $40 a person to cover the rooms at camp for 2 nights, and I will cover your food. Depending on donations I might even be able to cover the cost of the rooms. It is a big commitment, but we would love to have interested parents attend with us. We will leave between are asking everyone to be there between 4-4:30 on Friday and we will return Sunday afternoon between 2-2:30 p.m. It will be a great weekend, thanks for your support and encouragement. God Bless, David
