October 19, 2025 Youth Weekly Newsletter
Costume Party
We moved the costume party and mystery meal to Saturday, October 25 from 6-9 p.m. at the youth wing.  There will costume competition, a mystery meal, and games in the dark.  It will be a lot of fun, and we encourage everyone to participate, please click the RSVP button to let us know you are coming!  Sign up here

I also have a link for the parents to sign up to bring food to the party.  Please see the parent’s page, I will also send out a link when I send out the newsletter.  The meal is a mystery because the food items are disguised and difficult to know what they are.  There will be 3 courses, and each course will be taken away before the next one is served.  So, you could be eating without a fork or spoon.  At the end of the meal, we will open it up for everyone to get what they would like and eat normally.  The we will have 4 categories of Costume judging.  Best Homemade: Rewards the most impressive costumes that were clearly made from scratch.  Most Creative: Focuses on imaginative and unique concepts, not just store-bought ideas.  Most Original: Recognizes costumes that are not typical or commonly seen at parties. Best Use of Effort: Considers the intricacy of the design and how much time and work went into the costume. We will have candy as prizes of course.  You can bring a friend.  After the meal and costume judging we will play several games.  Murder in the dark, weeping angels, and vampire attack.  You will be glad you participated.

Trunk or Treat
There are sign up sheets in the lobby of the worship center, if your family would like to decorate a trunk of their car with a non-scary theme, please sign up.  They are looking for about 50 trunks on Sunday, October 26.  There will be no bible bowl on that day so people can set up their trunk.
They are collecting donations all this month of candy.  This is for the community, so I would work together to produce a clever idea to decorate a trunk.
Teen visitation
We are starting up 2 special events this month to help us interact more with each other and the congregation.  First, the middle school will start up their visiting after school on Mondays.  I will be going to a different middle school each week.  This coming Monday I will head over to Picacho Middle school.  I will pick you up after school and we will visit an older member and get ice cream afterwards.  We will try to hit only the schools that we have student at.  The high school will be going kidnapping on Tuesday nights as well. This visit will be done by schools; we will be picking up students that have visited on Wednesday nights.  We will start with Cruces High school.  We will meet at 7 p.m. and finish at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.  Each visitor will be contacted beforehand we leave, so they will be ready when we kidnap them and take them out for ice cream.  I guess you can see a pattern here.  This will start on October 21.  I hope it will encourage everyone to make relationships with others.

Parents Page
We need your help with the youth group costume party on Saturday, October 25 from 6-9 p.m.  We
are having a mystery meal as part of the evening activities, and we have special food that we are requesting.  If you can prepare it or bring it up the day of the activity that would be great!  Here is the link to sign up!
Some items do not require any cooking, but others do.  Be sure to read the instructions.  The hardest items will be the chicken alfredo and apple crisp.  I do appreciate your help with this special meal.  All our meals for Wednesday nights are covered until the end of the year, and we will start all over in January.  Thanks for collaborating with us last week for the Mashup.  I believe the students that participated had a wonderful time.  I appreciate the extra effort to take and pick up your kids, and I know that went on for 3 days, something I could not do each day.  For now, things are returning to a regular routine until the end of the year.   God Bless, David
